Aging in Place_CAPS

When designing for the intent of aging in place, you must think of ADA requirements. Aging in place design means exactly what it says; a client may not want to move ever again but their space needs to be able to flux with him or her. This type of design does not have to be "ugly" to be functional but a designer it would help to be certified.

CAPS is an acronym for a certified aging-in-place specialist. It was developed to provide training that  would accommodate the needs of people over the age of 50 and how to modify their homes and spaces for them. This would be a valuable asset for the future because less and less people are moving out of their homes. Instead the opt to age in place so to have some comfort and familiarity. Modifying their home can make that comfort and safety a reality.
